With each the purchase of each template you will receive instructions for its use. Forms with hard edges will need their templates pre-creased; fold along printed lines before use with clay.

Many of our templates can work with one another to create unique forms. For example, our tumbler, bowl, and short cup all share the same size base. Combine a bowl and cup to make a vase! Likewise, templates can be customized by cutting unique rims and decorative details into them!

When you're ready to use your template, dampen it with water so that it sticks to the clay. Though the tar paper is water resistant, it will eventually become waterlogged after multiple uses so it will need to be left to dry between making sessions. Because of this, I find it effective to sponge your templates "clean" at the end of a session.Once finished, store your templates flat and unfolded in a dry space.

A solid template, such as those available in our shop, can last mutliple uses; 50-100 depending on care.
